2022 small forward Emoni Bates, who landed at No. 1 on ESPN rankings regardless of class, has put on a show here at the Peach Jam.

The dynamic 6-9 Bates has one of the purest jump shots you will ever see and his ability to get it off regardless of size or space is just incredible.

Most people call him the next Kevin Durant, but I think he has a chance to be his own special player, and Michigan State does as well after offering him a scholarship.

Bates has been on a scoring rampage in North Augusta filling the coaching seats and the stat sheets.

Game 1: 24 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assist, 2 blocks

Game 2: 32 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assist

Game 3: 29 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assist

Playoff game: 44 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 assist

I’m not ready to say he’s better than everyone but he’s gotten off to a great start distancing himself from everyone in his class.
