George Mason recently welcomed 2020 Team Durant (MD) center Tegra Izay to campus for an unofficial visit.

While on the visit Izay received an offer from the program and wasn’t really surprised by it.

“They have been recruiting me for quite some time. So I was sort of expecting them to offer sometime soon,” Izay said. “I like the facilities as a whole and especially how they approach the recovery process like USA Basketball with all the technology and stuff.”

Along with George Mason, he has offers from Old Dominion, Mount Saint Mary’s, Loyola, La Salle, and Siena. Wake Forest, South Carolina, Pittsburgh and Tennessee are showing interest.

A lot of those coaches were on the road to see him with Team Durant on the Nike circuit and often talked to him about his game.

“Coaches say that they love my motor,” he said. “And how far I’ve come along in such a short amount of time.”

Izay plans on narrowing his list down soon and will start taking visits. He has an idea of where he wants to go but doesn’t have any definitive dates yet.

“I am planning on cutting my list of schools to seven or ten in the next week or so,” he said.

He also continued by saying, “I’m planning on visiting Wake Forest, South Carolina, USF, Rhode Island and a couple others sometime soon.”
