2021 forward Frank Anselem Jr has been a popular name among coaches circles lately. The 6-9 center from Lincoln Academy (GA) recently added an offer from Georgia and was really happy about it.
“I was really happy because that’s a school close to home and it’s a great basketball school,” he said. “They are in contact with me everyday and are all in developing players all around the game.”
Alabama, another school that is close to home, offered him a scholarship recently while he was on an unofficial visit and he’s looking into the possibility.
“Alabama was really good. It’s a huge football school but the basketball players also receive lots of love,” he said. “I can look forward to attending football games.”
Georgia, Alabama, DePaul, Nebraska, LSU, TCU, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech all offered this summer with plenty more interested.
“It’s really cool knowing you are on a lot of coaches radar,” he said. “It just makes you want to work harder so you gather more attention and also the attention of the blue bloods.”
Anselem has taken a few unofficial visits in the past, but hasn’t planned any since his trip to Alabama in June.
He does plan on visiting a Pac-12 school in the future, but hasn’t set that up yet.
“I currently do not have any visits planned right now,” he said. “I may go on an unofficial to USC but a date isn’t set yet.”
Anselem is enjoying the process and hasn’t even thought about his commitment. He has thought about narrowing down and that could happen as early as next year.
“I think I’ll be narrowing down my offers sometime next year,” he said. “But I can’t think of a commitment yet.”
