2021 combo guard JD Davison has a lot of schools paying attention to his game.

Alabama, Auburn, UNLV, Memphis, Iowa State, St. Louis, Florida, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech, among others, are recruiting him currently.

He has an unofficial visit planned to Alabama on the 17th of August and he’s looking forward to seeing a few things.

“[I want to learn] more about coach [Nate] Oats and the way he coaches,” Davison said. “Also the new players and how they fit.”

Alabama is the hometown program, but so is Auburn, and that rivalry runs deep. He grew up watching the rivalry unfold but maintained allegiance to both sides.

“I’m a big fan of Alabama football,” he said. “I love Alabama the same as I love Auburn, so I am very close with both.”

Memphis has also become a very serious option for Davison. He’s already visited the program unofficially, and he likes a lot about the program.

“[I like] a lot about it,” he said. “You know you got Penny [Hardaway] and Mike [Miller]. So, that’s two Hall of Famers and [I like] the way Penny coaches.”
