Rancho Christian (CA) point guard Jordan Montgomery is open to all schools.
Loyola Marymount, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Sacramento State, Portland State, Saint Mary’s, Harvard, San Jose State, San Diego and UC-San Diego are currently recruiting the 6-1 lead guard, who is still taking visits and exploring his options.
A lot of schools have reached out, including Division II schools that plan on watching him this season. He’s got a lot of Division I interest, but that’s not the only schools he’s considering.
“I’m the type of person that is open to any school,” he said. “Because a free education while playing the sport I love at any school is a blessing.”
Loyola Marymount recently had Montgomery up to campus for a visit, along with Sacramento State, and he recapped those visits with us at ScoopmanTV.
LMU: [I liked] how welcoming the entire staff was. Coach [Mike] Dunlap, the head coach, also gave me insight on the program and how he runs things, and he’s a genuine person. The campus is also beautiful.
Sacramento State: I’d say the messages they really stand on. They talk about development and getting 1-percent better everyday. I really think hard work is the highest priority, so knowing they stand for that development for a player stood out to me the most.
Montgomery would like to narrow down his list of suitors by mid-season and also go on more campus visits. He doesn’t have any set dates right now, but does plan on heading up to a few campuses soon.
“I plan to visit UC Riverside and UC Irvine very soon,” he said. “Especially when their season starts so I can catch a feel for campus life and a couple games.”
