2022 student-athlete Austin Nunez of Randolph (TX) is ahead the curve.
The emerging sophomore has offers from the likes of UTSA, Memphis, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and Wake Forest already, and Baylor recently added to that list that will continue to grow.
“Getting the offer was good cause they’ve been watching me since school season and the summer,” he said. “So, it was good getting that offer.”
Baylor saw enough of him during their elite camp on campus to know he’s the real deal and didn’t waste anytime offering him.
Baylor joined Wake Forest, who also offered him this month, as the latest high major schools already involved.
“I don’t know too much about [Wake Forest],” he said. “I know that getting a offer from them is huge because they are big when it comes to academics. So, it’s a really good look getting that offer other than a basketball perspective.”
Along with his early offers, Georgetown, Maryland, Texas Tech, LSU and Vanderbilt are also showing interest currently.
“I’m skilled. I can shoot and get anywhere I want to on the floor,” he said of what coaches like about his game. “The most important thing is that I was the youngest player on a 17U team and was the leader of that group, and lead them to the UA Finals.”
