2020 Mayo (MN) combo guard Mason Madsen has a few recruiting decisions left to make.

The 6-3 combo guard, who had offers from all over the country, has started to whistle down his list of suitors and take visits.

“I had 20 offers but I had to start cutting it down,” he said. “Right now it’s mostly Cincinnati, Toledo, and Colorado State.”

Cincinnati will have the first crack at the talented guard next weekend, as he has scheduled an official visit to campus for August 29th.

“Cincinnati has been recruiting me really hard. Coach [John] Brannen has done a really good job and I think he has a vision for me individually and the team collectively,” he said. “I think the biggest thing I’m looking forward to seeing is the way their guys interact, their culture, and also just the big city vibes. That’s something that appeals to me for sure.”

Cincinnati, who is also recruiting his brother, Gabe Madsen, could see both land in Ohio if the fit is right.

“Yes, definitely,” he said of playing college basketball with his brother. “In a perfect world that’s what we would want to do I think.”

After Cincinnati, he will take a trip to Toledo starting September 13th and then Colorado State starting September 27th.

He’s still keeping his visit options open to possibly take more in the near future. He also doesn’t plan to take visits and then commit after all are done. If he likes the school, he’ll waste no time deciding.

“I’m trying not to give myself a timeline. When I feel comfortable somewhere, I’ll pull the trigger,” he explained. “People that help me through this process have told me that it’s an easy decision when you find the right place. So, when I feel good at a certain school I won’t be hesitant to make a decision.”
