2021 Lausanne Collegiate (TN) wing Alden Applewhite has a healthy list of suitors following his performance this summer.
TCU, Iowa State, Missouri, Butler, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, NC State, Tulsa, Georgetown and Memphis are in on the 6-5 wing who plans to take an unofficial visit to Texas A&M on the 14th of September.
“I look forward to seeing the facility and meeting the coaches,” he said. “And getting a chance to see the atmosphere at the football game.”
Texas A&M is wasting little time getting acquainted with the Tennessee native. Not only were they quick to get him on campus to check out the Aggies and a football game, but they offered him a scholarship, which was a nice surprise.
“I was surprised a little but they’ve been talking to my dad and I since July,” he explained. “So I was just excited that they wanted to offer me.”
He’s also planning a visit to Ole Miss to see their campus and a football game, but that date hasn’t been confirmed yet. He’s just taking his time with the process, and looking to add more opportunities that he knows he’ll have to work hard for.
“I’ll say work ever harder so you can constantly impress the next coach and continue to show the coaches that want you why they should want you,” he said. “You do that by just expanding your game and building on your strengths.”
