United Faith Christian Academy (NC) forward Josh Massey decided to stay in the state of North Carolina for college.
After a long recruiting process, Massey decided to commit to Western Carolina over offers from Winthrop, Elon and Wofford.
“It was the coaches,” he said. “They are relationship people. I can talk to them outside of basketball and they are going to bring the best out of me coming in as a freshman, and being apart of a changing culture.”
Massey took an official visit to the campus, and the 48 hour period was all he needed to see to decide Western Carolina was for him.
“It was how family based it felt up there,” he said of his official visit. “Knowing my cousin is up there is also a comforting feeling.”
