2021 Thomas Worthington (OH) power forward Tyrese Hughey recently took an unofficial visit to Toledo and left the campus with an offer.
“I liked the coaching staff and how everybody in the program seemed to like being around each other,” Hughey explained. “Whether that was player to player, coach to coach, and coaches to the players. They all seemed like a unit, their facilities were great and the campus was beautiful.”
Toledo joined Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), Ohio, Youngstown State, Saint Francis, Duquesne and Kent State as the programs that have offered. West Virginia, Marshall and Loyola are showing interest.
He currently doesn’t have any more unofficials planned after taking two during the past couple of weekends, but does want to visit Miami (OH), Youngstown State and Ohio soon.
Hughey has started to see his recruitment pick up recently. More coaches have started to attend open runs to see the 6-7 forward that has an emerging game.
“Mainly my high motor,” he said of what coaches like about him. “My defense and ability to finish around the rim.”
