2021 junior college power forward Sydney Curry is definitely a player high majors should be paying attention to.
At 6-8, Curry is a bruiser down low that just decommitted from Miami (OH) and started attending John A. Logan (IL).
It should prove to be a great move for the talented forward to improve his game and recruitment. So far, he’s already improved drastically and expects plenty of schools to offer following his decommitment.
“I’ll probably see more schools coming than I got in high school,” he said. “I’m physically stronger and I’ve matured a lot. My game has expanded a lot since high school.”
Before he committed, he had a lot of mid major offers and plenty of interest from programs all across the country. Most loved him for his physical presence inside and his aggression in the paint.
“They were saying that they like my skill set and how strong I am in the post,” he explained. “They liked my aggressiveness, how I slow the game down and get my teammates involved, and how I ran the floor.”
Curry wants to look into possibly going 2020 if he can but the plan is to spend two years at the junior college level and then go on to a Division I program.
“I’m just checking out all of my options and seeing what is best for me,” he said.
