Santa Clara recently welcomed 6-7 forward Tre Carroll of Charlotte (FL) to campus for an official visit and he enjoyed just about everything.
“The campus is beautiful,” Carroll explained. “I really enjoyed how they treat their players and other coaching staff with respect. And the education is awesome.”
Santa Clara along with South Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson have offered, while East Carolina, Central Florida, Florida and Murray State are showing interest.
“[Coaches like] my motor,” he said. “I’m always going hard and working hard.”
Right now, Carroll is wide open and considering all options. Despite all the regional offers and interest, location won’t be that big of a factor for him. It will be all about fit.
“[Location matters] to my family a lot,” he said. “To me, I don’t really care. Wherever I feel I can do the most with school and basketball, and where I can benefit more, I’ll go.”
Carroll still has a lot of basketball left to play before making a decision, and probably won’t be narrowing down anytime soon either. Being 2021, he has plenty of time to think and that’s why the visits haven’t stopped for him. Right now he’s planning to visit Florida Gulf Coast on an unofficial but he hasn’t set up the date just yet.
