2020 Golden State Prep (CA) point guard Chance McMillian recently announced his commitment to Grand Canyon over the likes of Utah State, Hawaii, Washington State, Cal, Colorado State, St. Mary’s and San Jose State.
“Coach [Isaac] Chew was a big reason why. He recruited me real hard and we have literally been talking everyday since the first day he’s contacted me,” McMillian said. “The coaching staff made me feel comfortable but what sealed the deal for me is their playing style fits me spot on.”
The staff identified McMillian as their guy and didn’t stop until they got him on campus. At 6-3, he’s a good shot maker with microwave tendencies. Also a good passer, and gets everyone involved. He’s looking forward to bringing that full repertoire to Grand Canyon.
“I think I’ll fit in well by bringing my overall game into their program,” he explained. “Help them in anyway.”
Grand Canyon made it a priority to land McMillian to add to it’s already impressive recruiting class. They succeeded due to diligence and how genuine they were when building a relationship.
“My relationship with them is real good,” he explained. “I feel like I can go to any of them for help if I need it.”
McMillian is the third recruit this month that Grand Canyon added to its 2020 class. He joins junior college forward Quincy Urbina and Gonzaga Prep guard Liam Lloyd.
