Lefty sharpshooter Brandin Podziemski of Saint John’s NW Military Academy (WI) just added his first Division I offer.

The 2021 shooting guard landed an offer from DePaul and was shocked, to say the least.

“When DePaul offered I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “It definitely was a dream come true for me and my family.”

DePaul was the first to offer the 6-4 guard but will not be the last. He has interest from Texas A&M, Iowa, Michigan, Miami (OH), Valpo, South Dakota State, William & Mary, UC Santa Barbara, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, North Dakota State, IUPUI and Buffalo.

It’s clear after adding his first offer that Podziemski is going to take his time with the process. He isn’t taking visits nor started to think about any recruiting decisions. He’s improving his game and waiting patiently on opportunities to arise. He does however know what he’s expecting in a college program.

“I definitely want to go somewhere that fits me and what I mean by that is somewhere that is a big school in a big tow that has the education I want as long as their basketball team has a fun winning culture,” he explained. “Even if the schools have not done good in the past, that will have no effect on my decision because, at the end of the day, wherever I decide to go, that program will win.”

Location will also not play a factor in his recruitment either. He’s willing to go anywhere in the country. No one close to home holds an advantage but it’s close.

“Location doesn’t matter to me at all,” he said. “Right now I go to school away from home so it is really preparing me for college, wherever that may be.”
