Golden State Prep (CA) center Anton Jansson of Sweden announced his commitment to Saint Joseph’s and plans to sign today (November 18th) as well at 12pm PST.
“Billy Lange was a big factor. He is a really experienced coach with lots of energy who coaches the kind of basketball I like to play,” Jansson said. “The rest of the staff is awesome too and I really like the players. I think we have potential to go really far into the post season. It is a really good academic school too.”
Jansson chose Saint Joseph’s over offers from Oregon State, Elon, Evansville and Ohio. He joins 6-7 small forward Jordan Hall of Neumann-Goretti (PA) in Saint Joseph’s 2020 recruiting class.
St. Joseph’s snags a very good 6-11 big that can stretch the floor with his shooting and put the ball on the floor. He has the ability to guard both positions in the front court very well and has a lot of upside in Philadelphia moving forward.
“I’m a very all around player with lots of energy, leadership and hustle,” he explained. “On offense, I can shoot both three’s and [mid-range], attack the basket, post up and pass. On defense, I see myself as a leader that can guard big mans as well as perimeter players.”
