Hancock’s recruitment winding down

It’ll be an interesting next couple of weeks for senior guard Devon Hancock of Horn in Mesquite, Texas.

Denver, Kansas State, New Mexico State and Wichita State will be in to see him in a couple of days, he confirmed. He’s also trying to narrow down a long list of suitors that features the likes of New Mexico, UT-Martin, Southern Illinois, ETSU, Bryant, North Texas, Ball State, Georgia State, St. Bonaventure, South Dakota State, UC Davis, Fordham, St. Joseph and San Diego.

UW-Milwaukee, Jacksonville State, New Hampshire and Troy have all offered so far.

Hancock passes any eye test and the 6-3 guard in transition is something coaches really enjoy watching. His game is polished on both ends but coaches really like his offensive game.

“[Coaches like] the creation I get off the bounce,” Hancock explained. “And being a solid scorer with muscle…also my three point shot.”

While it’s not set in stone when he will narrow down schools or how many schools he will narrow down to, one thing is clear. He does plan on taking all five of his official visits very soon and then deciding.

He isn’t content on waiting out the process. He wants to get it over with and start focusing on his game.

“I will be narrowing it down in a couple of weeks and lining up visits,” he said. “Honestly as soon as something feels right [I’ll commit] so after the five visits.”
