St. Anne’s-Belfield School in Charlottesville, Virginia has a budding star on it’s hand.

2023 point guard John St. Germain is just a freshman this year but already has full ride scholarship offers from Division I programs.

San Jose State, Stetson and Southern Utah have all offered the freshman guard and I anticipate that more will come during the summer.

“My hard work is starting to pay off,” St. Germain said. “But, it’s just the beginning for me.”

St. Germain helped lead St. Anne’s-Belfield School to 20 wins, which tied a school record, helped them host their first ever VPL conference tournament and was named to the VPL conference tournament team.

He finished with multiple 20-plus scoring games and averaging 10.4 points, 4.8 assist, 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 assist per game. His all around production has gotten a lot of coaches attention and they’ve told his coaches that they enjoy that the most about his game.

“[Coaches like] my ability to see the floor,” he explained. “I’m a three way scorer and can do it at will, and see the next play before it happens.”

Heading into the summer, St. Germain plans on showcasing his full repertoire to coaches that haven’t been out to Virginia to see him play. He’s especially hoping his hometown school Virginia takes notice or North Carolina. Those two programs are what he referred to as, his dream schools.

St. Germain has a plan to get schools of their caliber to take notice. He’s utilizing his strong work ethic to continuously improve his game and he focusing on a few things before he embarks on the AAU journey.

“There’s always work,” he said of what he’s improving. “But, I’m focusing on my athleticism and a consistent jump shot.”
