2020 Von Steuben (IL) guard Jack Hays has narrowed his list of schools down to three.
Concordia University (MI), McHenry and Milwaukee Tech are his final suitors and here’s what he had to say about each individually.
Concordia Univeristy (MI): “When I went on a visit there in November the type of basketball they play fits my style, and the coaching staff was very enthusiastic about having me there. The campus and academics are also suited to me, and the fan base at their games are great.”
McHenry College: “McHenry kind of started recruiting me later, but when they did the coaches were very interested. They made my list because I would possibly be able to play there next year with some teammates that I’m close with, and the location of the school is convenient as well.”
Milwaukee Tech: “They have a history of developing their players in 1 to 2 years and sending them to a Division 1 University. And it would be an opportunity for me to boost my stock and still be somewhat close to home being in the Milwaukee area.”
Hays is about a month away from actually making a decision but because he’s already taken the necessary visits, it could be spontaneous.
All of the schools in his final three offer him something unique and it’s made this one of the tougher life decision for himself and his family. As they sit down and start to talk about his commitment, these are some of the things that will be mentioned.
“As a college basketball player, I am looking for a University that has a welcoming environment, where I feel welcomed as a player, and student,” Hays explained. “The coaches have to treat their players the right way, on and off the court, and a place where I can come in and make an impact right away, and have the right people around me socially and great teammates.”
