Denver assistant coach Bacari Alexander has followed 2021 guard Keon Henderon since his freshman season.
At the time, Alexander was the head coach at Detroit and once he made the move to Denver, he continued watching the progress of Henderson.
It wasn’t long following his addition to the staff at Denver that he decided he seen enough and decided to give Henderson his first scholarship offer.
“It felt good to finally receive an offer after all the hard work I have been putting in,” Henderson explained. “I never played on the circuit where a lot of guys get seen, so I never really had the opportunity to compete in front of a ton of coaches. To get my first offer off of high school games alone made me more confident in my game.”
“I’m now looking forward to playing on the EYBL for my last year of AAU.”
Denver is the first and only Division I program to offer Henderson at the moment. But with a chance to play on the EYBL circuit, expect more to come to the Ypsilantl Lincoln (MI) student-athlete. This will be his first time showcasing his game to a large amount of coaches and he’s ready to showcase his full arsenal.
“Everything that my game has to offer at the point guard position,” he said. “Leadership, being a floor general, making my teammates better around me and being able to defend the opposing guard.”
