2022 shooting guard TJ Caldwell added his second scholarship offer from the Lon Kruger led Oklahoma Sooners.
Oklahoma joins Oklahoma State as his only offers so far.
“They’ve noticed me since I decided to run with Team Griffin this summer and saw some of my film and offered right away,” Caldwell explained. “I mean it was kind of a surprise, considering it was a school I’ve never been in touch with. Kind of makes me realize anybody could be watching at anytime.”
Oklahoma State is also a place that Caldwell holds in high regard. The Faith Family (TX) shooting guard added an offer from head coach Mike Boynton back in July of last year and had good things to say regarding the program and the person leading it.
He also has a good relationship with their highest rated recruit in program history.
“I think he’s is a great head coach. I knew it could be a place for me to be,” he said. “My good friend Cade [Cunningham] committed to OSU. I’m good friends with Cade and his brother [Cannen Cunningham]. His brother is actually the coach I received the offer from.”
There’s a lot to like about Caldwell. He’s been working on his ball handling and mid range game this year to prepare him for the high school and EYBL season.
Most coaches have picked up on it and have become interested because of it.
“Most coaches like that I’m always in attack mode,” he said. “I’m always looking to score.”
