After two seasons at Liberty, 7-foot-2 center Brendan Newton entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The Roanoke, Virginia native played in eight games last season and averaged 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds on 62-percent shooting from the field.

Newton played sparingly all season only averaging 3.9 minutes per game.

Since entering the portal, Newton has heard from Bethel University in Indiana, California State-San Marcos, Evangel University and Fresno Pacific University.

Newton is taking his time and waiting out the process. Don’t expect a rushed decision but it won’t take long.

“Probably within the next month,” Newton said of when he’ll decide. “I want to see what comes my way.”
