Rice sophomore guard Trey Murphy III entered the transfer portal and is already one of the best transfers on the market.
The 6-foot-8 shooting guard averaged 13.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 assist per game this past season. He also hit 37-percent of his 204 three point attempts.
“I just wanted to maximize my potential,” Murphy III explained. “And make a move that I thought was best for me.”
Arizona, Texas, Xavier, Houston, Stanford, UCSB, UC Riverside, Arkansas, Iowa State, Appalachian State, DePaul, Cincinnati, Arizona State, Creighton, UConn, BYU, Oklahoma and Minnesota have all reached out.
The talented wing has a lot of options going forward and more coaches are still getting involved. Murphy III is willing to give everyone a fair shot and he doesn’t have a timetable yet for his decision.
