East Carolina is trying to get one of the best shooters on the west coast in 2021 combo guard Luke Murphy.
Last week, Murphy announced the offer from the staff via Twitter.
“My relationship is great with the staff,” Murphy said. “Coach [Joe] Dooley has a really great coaching staff.”
East Carolina joined a list of suitors that feature Colorado State, Seattle, San Jose State and San Diego. Tulane recently joined that list as well after offering the sniper yesterday.
Most coaches comment on his ability to knock down shots. It’s his signature and something that he works hard on throughout the year.
“I work on it every day,” Murphy explained. “I make 500 shots a day to make sure it’s still on point.”
He’s made a name for himself because of his ability to stretch the floor and coaches key in on that trait as well as a few others.
“I think most coaches like that I have the ability to shoot,” he said. “But, also to drive and create plays for teammates.”
