2020 PPHoenix Prep (AZ) shooting guard Jake Murphy added his third scholarship offer this week.

Army West Point and Air Force have offered Murphy with Houston Baptist recently offering him a scholarship as well.

“Coach [Jud] Kinne is the main assistant who has recruited me and he is very cool,” Murphy explained. “One thing I notice about this staff is how upfront and honest they are with me…very genuine.”

Along with his three offers, Murphy has interest from Furman, Lipscomb, Navy and Rice.

Murphy contends that his recruitment is open and is confident more coaches will get involved. The current programs recruiting him at the moment all like similar things about his game and what he can bring to the table at the next level.

“A lot of coaches know I’m a very high level shooter with a quick release,” he said. “But, I think coaches like my size and ability to defend positions one through four.”

“Not too many shooters put defense first in their game. My toughness is mentioned a lot as well.”

Murphy competed on the grind session this year with some of the best athletes in the country and held his own. That’s why Murphy is so confident in his ability to attract more college coaches and why his recruitment will remain open for the foreseeable future.

“I’ve always been an under the radar kid and I’m waiting to see what other schools take a chance with me,” he said. “I’m very confident in my game and I think I’ll keep my recruitment open until my family and I have decided on the right fit.”
