Houston has been around a long time recruiting Westbury Christian (TX) power forward Ja’Vier Francis.
After a few visits to campus and a lot of communication over the year, the staff finally offered Francis on April 2nd, he announced on Twitter.
“I’ve talked to coach [Alvin] Brooks some and he came to see me workout last year,” Francis said. “I also talked to coach Kellen [Sampson] and coach Bilal Batley a lot also, and every time I went to visit they all made me feel welcomed.”
Along with Houston, Texas Southern Stephen F Austin, Oral Roberts, Georgia State, Texas Tech and UTSA, are also recruiting Francis.
“[Coaches like] my defense and offense and also how my perimeter game is developing so much,” he said. “But, mostly how I play hard.”
Right now, Francis has a ton of regional programs recruiting him, and will have almost every option to stay home and play in Texas.
Playing in front of your family and friends is something anyone would embrace, but it’s not the number one priority, or important to Francis at all.
He’s willing to commit wherever he finds fit.
“Location doesn’t matter to me,” he said. “I just want to be able to go in whatever college I decide to go to and play as a freshman.”
