North Pike (MS) guard Alijah Martin recently narrowed his list down to a final four with Tulane, Southern Miss, McNeese State and Florida Atlantic involved.
But after our conversation, the two-sport athlete, who also holds offers from football programs, decided to stay open but is also planning on deciding soon.
Along with the aforementioned four programs, New Orleans, Jackson State, Southeastern, Troy, East Tennessee State and Alcorn State have offered with Louisiana-Lafayette, New Mexico, LSU, Oklahoma State, Murray State, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Iowa State and Vanderbilt showing interest, he told me.
The bouncy point guard has the eye of coaches for many reasons. He has a very quick step, good control around the rim and a knack for scoring. Coaches all love him for his but his defense as well.
“I have a nice jumper and I pass the ball well,” he said. “I’m athletic, a two-way player and can make my teammates better.”
