Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, junior Kayo Goncalves spent his past two years at Southeastern Oklahoma State and is looking to further his education and basketball career at the Division I level.

“My desire to get a master degree was my main reason,” he said. “Since I’m transffering I might as well achieve a dream to play Division I ball.”

Since entering his name in the portal, UNC-Charlotte, Idaho, South Alabama, California Baptist, Eastern Illinois, Portland, Citadel, Incarnate Word, San Diego and IUPUI have reached out.

At 6-foot-8, Goncalves averaged 12.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 46-percent from three. He made 100 of 213 three point shots last season, and went 4-of-4 against Division I Arkansas Little-Rock.

He’s certainly one of the top stretch fours available and coaches should be getting involved now because he plans on making his decision soon.

“In one week, two weeks max,” he said of when he’ll commit. “No more than 2-weeks for sure.”
