Stony Brook offers JUCO guard Nykie Jackson

2020 Harcum College (PA) guard Nykie Jackson is one of the best mid-level talents remaining in the class at the junior college level.

The talented guard that averaged 10.3 points and 3.6 rebounds on 48-percent shooting from the field and 36-percent from three, recently added an offer from Stony Brook to add to scholarships from Coppin State and Fordham.

“They are some great coaches,” he said of Stony Brook. “They are showing me the school part of things you know..school comes first. You got to stay locked in on that.”

St. Peter’s, Marist and VCU are also highly interested in the junior college guard and it’s likely due to his jump shooting ability.

“Coaches love my shooting and shot making ability the most,” he said. “And that I keep a high motor and that I can pretty much do everything on the offensive side with some work on my dribbling. All I have is upside with my length and size.”

With the late signing period among us, the race to make a decision for a lot of prospects has began and it’s no different for Jackson. He want’s to take his time, and that’s why he’s paid attention to all of the virtual visits.

He likes the programs, and “all the schools look really different,” he said. He will have his options as the month progresses but he’s not going to wait much longer before announcing his commitment.

“I know I have to make a big decision quickly,” he said. “So, most likely the end of this month.”
