6-9 Georgia forward adds first offer

Mountain View (GA) junior combo forward Wyatt Fricks received his first official scholarship offer yesterday.

The 2021 forward got the call that Stetson was offering him and announced the scholarship via his Twitter account.

“I was excited,” he said. “It felt good to be recognized for all my hard work and be rewarded officially.”

At 6-9, Fricks is a matchup problem and can really be a scary offensive player with the ball in his hand. He can do a little bit of everything, and play up to three positions on the floor.

Stetson is certainly smart for getting involved when they did and being the first team to offer the Mountain View junior. Had it not been for injuries, he could have multiple scholarship offers right now, and more than likely be one of the highly sought prospects in his area.

Stetson understands that and moved fast to build a relationship that is progressing well.

“It’s a good relationship,” Fricks explained. “They’re easy to talk with.”

Lipscomb, Georgia, Mount St. Mary’s, UT-Chattanooga, Merrimack, Appalachian State, Belmont and Central Arkansas are all paying attention to the All-Region forward.

“[Coaches like] my ability to shoot the ball at my size,” he said. “Also, my sneaky athleticism sometimes.”
