UNC-Wilmington has been busy this week on the recruiting trail trying to find a versatile forward to help their program moving forward.
They believe 2021 The Colony (TX) forward Tay Mosher could be a good fit within their program and offered him a scholarship.
“Our relationship is just starting up but I can tell that they are trustworthy people,” Mosher said. “We are building up our relationship daily.”
UNC-Wilmington head coach Takayo Siddle has hit the ground running since taking over the position last month. His staff has done a job of recruiting Mosher so far and their system is definitely something Mosher could see himself flourishing in.
“I like how they run their offense and let guys shoot,” Mosher said. “If you have a gift, they won’t hold you back from showing everyone your gift. Also, they have a beautiful campus.”
UNC-Wilmington adds to a very long list of potential suitors for the talented 6-foot-7 combo forward. He has offers from Bucknell, Northern Colorado, Oral Roberts, UMKC, UNC-Wilmington and UT-Arlington. He has interest coming from Richmond, Duquesne, Colorado State, East Carolina, George Washington, Louisiana Tech, Yale, Princeton, Brown and more.
Mosher is a versatile forward that can play in the post or on the wing. He’s comfortable doing both and can score the basketball very efficienty either way. Coaches have keyed in on his ability to stretch the floor and make shots.
“Coaches like how I have size and can shoot the ball,” he said. “Or take a smaller defender down low for the easy post up bucket.”
Mosher is a player worth watching. He finished his junior season on the 8-5A All-district first team and continues to hear from colleges daily.
