The postionless 6-foot-7 Jonathan Lucas of Hartfield Academy (MS) has been a student-athlete many colleges from different levels have paid attention to.
Lucas plays a little bit of everything for Hartfield Academy and can produce on the offensive end in the post or on the wing.
“Coaches like my versatility,” he said. “Being 6-foot-7 but handling the ball like a 5-foot-10 guard.”
So far, Lipscomb, Bryant, Central Arkansas, VMI, McNeese State, Southeastern Louisiana, Covenant College, Bowdoin College, Grinnell College and the University of Dallas have been in contact the most.
Bryant, who recently offered him a scholarship, has moved quick to build a relationship and so far it’s going well.
“We have a good relationship,” he said. “They recently started reaching out to me and we were able to build a relationship. We talk frequently.”
Bryant is a program that could have a good shot of landing Lucas, who likes a lot about the program. He isn’t favoring them over the others recruiting him currently but he does like their system.
“Their offense is what I like the best,” he said. “It’s a very fun way to play basketball.”
