Toledo offers Indiana guard Connor Hickman

Bloomington South (IN) combo guard Connor Hickman got a big time offer from Toledo this week.

The 6-foot-2 guard announced the scholarship offer via his Twitter.

Toledo is a program that has been very eager to build a relationship with the improving guard and that’s why it wasn’t surprising to see Hickman get the offer after meeting the rest of the staff.

“I’m close with coach Walter Offutt and I got to meet the rest of the coaching staff yesterday including coach [Tod] Kowalczyk,” he said. “They’re a great group of people with a winning tradition set in place at Toledo.”

Bradley, Furman, Elon, Evansville, Toledo, Ball State, Wofford, Dayton, Belmont, Drake and Vermont are also recruiting Hickman and have been in contact the most.

The coaches at the Division I level praise his versatility and ability to play multiple positions on the floor.

“[Coaches] definitely like my basketball IQ and ability to shoot,” he said. “I’m not a one-dimensional player. I can play both point guard and shooting guard.”

Hickman’s recruitment is slowly starting to heat up and more programs are starting to get involved. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him pick up a lot more offers during the summer, especially if the evaluation periods return.
