Oregon State sophomore guard Antoine Vernon has entered the transfer portal, he confirms to ScoopmanTV.

After two seasons in the Pac 12 Conference, the Ontario native is looking for a better fit.

“I wasn’t happy with my role,” Vernon explained. “I wanted to have more control over the game and the style of play didn’t really fit mine.”

Since he entered the portal, the University of San Diego reached out, and Southern Utah expressed interest.

Last season, Vernon appeared in 25 games but only played an average of 8-minutes. The season prior, he appeared in 30 games and averaged 10.9 minutes per game.

At his next stop, he’s hoping he can get a bigger role and more opportunity to be himself offensively.

“I’m looking for a program that wants to win and a program that values a true point guard who can make ball screen reads and create for his teammates.”
