Gillette College (WY) power forward Tarig Eisa committed to Lamar the same day he received a scholarship offer.
NorthPoleHoops.com Recruiting Analyst Mickias Mikre broke the news about his offer via Twitter, and the staff at ScoopmanTV, confirmed through Eisa that he had verbally committed to the University shortly after.
“I like [head] coach [George] Price a lot,” Eisa said. “He’s been recruiting me hard and I think I can bring value to the program.”
Eisa chose Lamar over Arkansas State, Maryland Eastern Shore, Detroit and Towson.
The Toronto native played in 23 games last season for Gillette College and averaged 10.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.2 assist per game. He shot 46-percent from the field and 32-percent from three.
He will add a lot of experience to a Lamar program that finished above 500 and losing two seniors that played at least 30-minutes per game. He should be perfect in Price’s system that will take advantage of his versatility at the forward position.
