Kilgore College (TX) freshman Michael Thomas of Lake Charles, LA, picked up four offers in less than 24 hours.
Southern, Cal State Bakersfield, Coastal Carolina and Houston have offered so far joining Troy, who offered in March.
“It’s crazy because in high school it felt like nobody wanted me,” he said. “I feel like I worked hard for this and it’s all paying off now.
Ole Miss, Mississippi State, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Creighton and Louisville are all showing interest. He’s also recently reached out to Virginia Tech, Tulsa and San Diego State.
Thomas has utilized the quarantine to market himself to coaches, while also working on his game and getting better. He’s already completed a zoom call with Louisville, and sent out his highlight tapes to plenty of college coaches, who all like his improved athleticism.
“I didn’t have hops like I do now and I think a lot of coaches love my athleticism,” he said. “They like my shooting ability and my ability to get to the rim. I’m special at that.”
In the near future, he will be on zoom calls with more coaches, including Houston, who just recently offered him, to learn more about the programs.
