After reclassifying to the class of 2021, The Skills Factory (GA) forward Jalen DeLoach has seen more programs get involved.
Right now, Ole Miss, Iona, Georgia, College of Charleston and Mississippi State have been involved, and once Rick Pitino got the job, Deloach was among the first wave of players to hear from the coach.
So far, the relationship has progressed well and their message is one that Deloach appreciates.
“They love my game and coach Pitino wants high major players and long wings like me,” he said. “Also, how I can get developed and get to the league.”
He’s learning as much as possible about the programs showing interest and since he can’t visit the programs because of the dead period extension, he has started to get on zoom with their coaching staffs.
He most recently completed a call with the staff at Ole Miss. It was very informative and he learned a lot.
“I learned a lot about the program and how I can fit in their system,” Deloach explained. “I learned what’s his coaching style and how he uses players like me. Also about the school.”
At this moment, Deloach remains open and plans on waiting until he has the opportunity to show his improvement before deciding on a college or cutting his list.
“A lot of schools are waiting to see me play so they can offer me,” he said. “After that, I’ll cut down my list.”
