2022 point guard Amare Haynie of Winston Salem Christian (NC) has the potential to be one of the bigger breakout stars in his class.
When college coaches could finally reach out to incoming juniors in the class of 2022 he added offers from East Carolina, VCU, Old Dominion and Wichita State to go with previous offers from Wake Forest, UNC-Wilmington, Ole Miss and UAB.
Clemson, Virginia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina State, Tulsa, Houston, Virginia, Florida, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Xavier, Butler, Cincinnati, Providence and DePaul are among the programs showing interest right now, he told me.
He said most coaches like his, “defense and my IQ for the game.”
He’s currently working hard right now to consistently improve and keep getting opportunities at the Division I level, and he’s doing so by focusing on improving the most important aspect of point guards game.
“Becoming more consistent with the three ball,” he said. “[And] 0-1 turnovers every game.”
