North Carolina A&T and Hofstra recently offered 2021 Heritage (GA) point guard Robert “R.J.” Noord and many more are also recruiting him.
A lot of the newer programs that have reached out to get involved have been from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Noord isn’t opposed to be someone that will begin that trend in his class if the fit is right.
“There message has just been you’ll love it here,” he said of the HBCU’s. “It’s an amazing experience and the academics are top tier.”
Murray State, Dayton, Elon, Winthrop, Xavier, Appalachian State, James Madison, VCU, Western Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast and Wofford, among others, are also recruiting him.
He’s still picking up more interest by the day and his game is also gaining popularity among coaches.
“Coaches like my aggressive nature,” he said. “My ability to make tough shots along with my athletic ability, and the fact that I’m a tall point guard.”
So far, Winthrop and Elon have had Zoom meetings/virtual visits with Noord, and more may be set up in the future. But right now, his focus is on improving his game and making sure he’s ready for his final season of high school basketball.
“Just working on continuing to get bigger and stronger,” Noord explained. “Working on change of pace, and making great reads consistently as a lead guard.”
