After an injury sidelined him for a year, 2022 Iona Preparatory (NY) forward Orlando Wallace is back and ready to show coaches what he can do.

Stony Brook recently reached out to offer the 6-foot-9 forward, while Rutgers also recently called to express interest. Manhattan College has also reached out as well as others, according to his coach.

“It felt like a good relationship,” he said of his talk with Stony Brook. “I felt relaxed..wasn’t too nervous but was excited.”

Rutgers also recently reached out to Wallace, and they could be the next program to offer once the pandemic subsides.

“[Rutgers] basically told me to keep working,” Wallace explained. “They will be at a few of my games in the fall.”

It shouldn’t be out-of-sight, out-of-mind for Wallace. He still has a Division I game, and I expect more coaches to get involved this fall during the high school season.

“Coaches say that I’m a good rebounder and shot blocker,” he said. “I can score with both hands and I run the floor well.”
