St. Rita (IL) in Chicago, known for it’s Division I level talent has another young prospect that college coaches are already vying for.

6-foot-8 forward James Brown recently received offers from Western Illinois and Siena, already making him a player to watch in the future for college coaches.

“It’s very exciting to know that all the hard work I’ve put in over the years is starting to pay off,” he said. “It also motivates me to work harder in the classroom and on the court to get more offers.”

Brown is an incoming freshman, so he still has a very long way go and more improvements to make in his game. He’s already considered a Division I talent before bouncing the ball on the varsity level, and it’s only going to get better as more coaches are allowed to watch him play in the future.

“I feel like my strong suits are attacking the basket in a fast break situation and drawing the attention of the defense to create easy plays for my teammates,” Brown explained. “I can also handle and shoot the ball for someone of my size, and finish at the rim through contact.”

“Finally, I feel like when I lock in, I can lockdown any player I want to.”

Brown has the potential to be a very high level wing or possibly a small four. His potential is through the roof and more coaches should be doing their homework on the talented incoming freshman.
