“It definitely felt nice,” he said when asked about finally adding a bow to his recruitment. “I’m comfortable with the decision that I made today so…good to get it behind me.”

While he was estatic to get the recruitment process behind him, he wasn’t the only one.

“[Leonard Hamilton] was thrilled,” he explained. “He kept telling me for weeks how much he needed me and wanted me. So, I know it really made him happy that I made the announcement.”

Butler reference the, “the track record” of Leonard Hamilton and what he’s done with players with similar games, and he can’t wait to get to Florida State to learn from a coach of his stature.

“I’m definitely thrilled to work with a guy like that,” he said. “That has so much experience. So I can get some information and wisdom from him, so I can grow and develop into the best player I can be.”

Butler was named to the 2019-20 All-Upstate boys basketball team, according to Greenville News.
