2021 Westlake (TX) power forward K.J. Adams just announced his commitment to the Kansas Jayhawks in the Big 12 conference.

Adams, a four-star rated prospect on Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN, joins Zach Clemence, a four-star rated forward from Sunrise Christian (KS) in Kansas’ 2021 recruiting class.

He chose the Jayhawks over scholarship offers from Iowa, Central Florida, Iona, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Georgetown, Baylor and Arkansas.

Adams, at 6-foot-7, is a bruiser with improving handle and great control around the rim. ScoopmanTV followed Adams last summer as he helped Team Griffin (OK) take the Nike EYBL 16U Peach Jam.

Adams hit the game-tying shot to end regulation, and then game-winning shot in OT in front of NBA star Blake Griffin, and will be headed to the same conference to hopefully write a similar story.

Adams was an All-Central Texas Player of the Year finalist and unanimous All-Central first-team after averaging 22.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.5 assist, while also being named District 25-6A MVP.
