Alabama wing seeing more Division interest this summer

The recruitment of Gardendale (AL) wing Jalon Moore is starting to heat up.

Troy recently offered the 6-foot-5 wing giving him his third Division I scholarship offer.

“The relationship is cool,” Moore said. “Me and some of the assistant coaches have built a good relationship and I talked to [head] coach [Scott] Cross yesterday and things are looking good.”

UAB and Alabama State have also offered Moore with North Alabama, South Alabama, Murray State, Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Alabama A&M showing interest.

Moore was a ASWA (Alabama Sports Writers Assocation) All-State selection after finishing his junior season averaging around 17 points and seven rebounds per game. He was also named to the Class 6A All-Area 11 Team and has a reputation to finishing the play.

“[Coaches like] that I play hard,” he said. “I’m long, I can get out and run, and that I am a good finisher.”

As of now, Moore has no intentions of narrowing down his list of schools nor deciding anytime soon. He plans on making a decision in spring after seeing more coaches get involved as of late.

“I’m just waiting until April to sign anywhere,” he said. “Because my recruitment is just starting to pick up.”

He doesn’t have any Zooms or virtual visits planned but he does plan on getting on call with Troy next week.
