San Marcos (TX) sophomore Malik Presley has been a must-follow for Division I basketball coaches as of late.
The 6-foot-6 wing recently received an offer from SMU, and he’s looking forward to strengthening their relationship over time.
“Me and my dad are definitely looking to build a stronger [relationship] with them,” Presley said. “We’ve been talking about unofficial visits and maybe checking out some of their games in the future.”
Houston, Oklahoma State and IUPUI have also offered him and are also paying attention to the versatile wing that can do on both ends of the floor.
“I would have to say my ability to use my length on the defensive and offensive side,” he said. “Also, play above the rim and also get to the rim at will.”
To make sure he is continuously improving and giving himself the best opportunity to receive scholarship offers, Presley has stayed in the gym working on craft. His focus has been on both ends of the floor.
“I’ve been working on developing my outside shot a little bit more and working on my floaters because getting to the rim isn’t always going to be there,” Presley explained. “I’m also getting better at setting up my teammates for open shots.”
