St. John’s keeping New York power forward local

Long Island Lutheran (NY) power forward Drissa Traore will be staying local and playing for head coach Mike Anderson at St. John’s.

Traore and St. John’s have conducted numerous Zoom calls over the past few months, and during the final one, a commitment was made, according to a source.

He is the first recruit in St. John’s 2021 recruiting class and fourth overall player from New York coach Anderson has kept home in the last two years.

St. John’s was picked over scholarship offers from Illinois, Saint Louis, Siena, Stony Brook and others.
