Norcross (GA) is a known program that produces Division I talent yearly and Jerry Deng is another student-athlete that will continue the trend.
The 6-foot-8 wing recently added his first offer from Akron and has also heard from TCU, Minnesota, Ole Miss and plenty others.
“[Coaches like] my versatility for my size,” Deng explained. “At 6-foot-8 and being able to shoot, dribble and pass at a high level.”
The latest offer from Akron, “definitely made me hungrier to go get better,” he said, and he’s been in the gym everyday to continue to turn more interest into scholarship offers.
“I’m in the gym everyday. No exaggeration,” he said. “Sometimes twice…just working on tightening my handle, perfecting my jumper and a lot of strength and agility.”
