Anthony Chavez-Sellars recruitment picking up

Anthony Chavez-Sellars of Moravian Prep (NC) recently received his fourth Division I scholarship offer from Old Dominion.

Tulsa, High Point and Winthrop have also offered with Elon, Air Force, Western Carolina, North Carolina State and Southern Mississippi showing interest.

“I can do everything. I play defense, I can shoot, I can drive,” he said. “I’m a very unselfish player, I’m just very versatile and I’m a 6-foot-6 potential guard.”

Interest in the 6-foot-6 playmaker has increased due to his improving game and recent decision to reclass to 2022. The former Winston Salem Prep (NC) wing recently announced his intentions to transfer to Moravian Prep (NC) and reclass. The extra year of prep school will allow him to mature as a student, as well as an athlete.

It will also allow allow him more opportunity to be seen and possibly play in front of coaches next summer. In preparation for his next steps, Sellars has been working on becoming more of a guard to create bigger mismatches in the backcourt.

“[I’m working on] finishing around the rim,” Sellars explained. “and becoming more of a big guard.”
