Whitney Young guard Dalen Davis picks up 3rd scholarship offer

2023 Whitney Young (IL) point guard Dalen Davis picked up his third offer from home state school Illinois.

Illinois joins Western Illinois and DePaul as the programs that have offered the 5-foot-11 lead guard so far.

“It’s pretty cool and motivation for me to work harder,” he said of adding an offer from Illinois. “And that all the work I’ve put in all these years are paying off.”

Davis is a guard that set the pace and take control of a game at such a young age. His feel for the game is something that he prides himself on, and it something coaches like about his improving game.

“I control the pace well,” he explained. “I’m a good defender, I like to shoot the mid-range and get to the basket.”

At this moment his recruitment continues to grow but his focus is still on improving his game. He’s not focusing on one thing or another. He’s working on his all-around game to help improve his stock moving forward.

“Really everything,” he said of what he’s looking to improve. “But mostly being a leader, getting faster, more explosive and to shoot the ball from further back.”
