2021 Kimberly (WI) forward Grant Asman received his first Division I scholarship offer recently from Army.
Once he received the news, all he could do was smile.
“It was an amazing feeling,” Asman explained. “To have the opportunity to play basketball at the D1 level has been a dream that I’ve had forever.”
It doesn’t stop there. Saint Thomas, Merrimack, UC-San Diego, UC-Santa Barbara, Lipscomb, Appalachian State, Valparaiso, VMI and Wisconsin-Green Bay, among others are showing interest due to his size and skill at the four spot.
“Coaches like my ability to stretch the floor and play fast,” he said. “Last year, [Army] played the 2nd quickest out of all of D1 and they really though I could help contribute to them playing fast.”
Saint Thomas, Merrimack and Milwaukee are the newest programs to reach out to Asman, while Saint Thomas has been the most active with Zoom calls as of late.
