A lot has happened since we last spoke with 2022 Minnesota Prep (MN) guard D.J. Jefferson.
The 6-foot-5 guard has added offers from Oregon and Arizona State, two programs that began recruiting him recently, and surprised him with their interest.
“Oregon and Arizona State…for them two schools to recruit me is really surprising,” he said. “Because those are some big schools and it’s a blessing seeing these type of schools showing interest in me.”
Tulsa, TCU, DePaul and Bryant have also offered with Georgia State and Utah State also coming at him. I’d be surprised if there aren’t even more coaches coming after him once they are able to see him play again.
“[Coaches] like my skill set,” he said. “The way I handle and slow the game down, and let it come to me. My athleticism and my defense.”
As of now, Jefferson remains open and will be a talent worth following. He is working hard on his game to become a player and leader.
“I’m really trying to work on being coachable,” he explained. “Holding teammates accountable, and my defense awareness.”
